I purchased the 3k kit just under a year ago. I use it for making YT videos at home so it's usually just sitting on my desk, no repetitive folding and use. Even when I store it, it's usually in the same stand position that it's in while I'm recording to maintain a consistent angle when I set up again so I literally almost never move the legs around. Fast forward to last week and suddenly the legs give out in the middle of recording. Imagine my surprise when I take a closer look and the joints that failed have cracked apart. Keep in mind I almost never move the legs around so it's odd that stress fractures would form on the joints. I contacted Joby customer support. They mention that I shouldn't have purchased from an "unauthorized seller" like Amazon then proceeded to direct me to the MANFROTTO website where they have a list of unauthorized sellers. That's great, because I ALWAYS check the MANFROTTO website when purchasing a JOBY products..... *face palm*. So they're using that as an excuse to not warrant the product. Their warranty page on their website says that customers are important to them and that they go above and beyond - I guess not all customers and they won't go farther than typing "no". I used this with a Sony A7III with Sony 24-105 which is well under their claimed 3kg weight limit. Do yourself a favor and don't support companies who won't support their customers after purchase.
