For those who reported that it worked only in mono, I was disappointed to find the same. It seemed to only come in stereo if you didn't push the headphone jack all the way in and moved it out just ... so. I bought two and this was case in both; I tried different headphones, so I know it's the USB port, not the headphones. Weirdly, I happened on what I think might be a solution: I plugged the headphone jack all the way in the USB adapter BEFORE putting the adapter in the computer. I heard a crackling sound. Then I put it in the PC and now I'm getting stereo when the jack is pushed in fully. Note this product isn't returnable (it is not stated when checking out and it really should be -- please fix this Amazon).
