I bought this because I cook for two and used this mostly for grating hard cheeses, but also rouilles and an occasion quick chop. I probably used it under 40x and the plastic gearing that connects the blade to the stem stripped while grating chunks of cheese. I bought another blade thinking it was the plastic receptor in the blade unit, but it was the stem or gearing inside. The warranty is short (expired in my case), so that should be a clue. The same thing happened to my full size Cuisinart food processor while making dough. Don't match a powerful motor with plastic gearing! I am abandoning Cuisinart as a manufacture. I hate to fill landfill, and look for lasting products, and now look for metal gearing and parts from the motor to the blade.
