I bought a pair around a year and a half ago and loved them. The product is called the same name but is now completely different. The previous wide waistband was about 3 inches thick and had a large elastic sewn inside. The current product has a 2 inch waistband and has a tiny 1 inch elastic sewn inside. Now they’re exactly like the cheap knockoff capris I was trying to avoid. Keep looking if you want a wide waistband. I uploaded side by side photos of my old pair and the new pair. The old pair has a wide waistband and the whole section is elastic. In the new pair the waistband is about 2 inches wide but only 1 inch is elastic. In the second photo I folded the waistband down to only show the elastic section. This product should not be advertised as a wide waistband because it is not wide at all.
