I've had the Guardline for 3 months now and have reversed my initial praise. It began having false alarms after about 6 weeks. First I followed the online advice, then I contacted Guardline regarding a return. "Dave" at Guardline emailed back a list of suggestions I should try and if those didn't work, he said Guardline would exchange my unit, and if that didn't work, they would refund my money. I followed his suggestions meticulously, the crux of which was to take down the gate unit, take its cover off, its batteries out, and let everything dry out for multiple days in case there was a moisture issue of any degree. I followed the instructions twice, reassembled the unit, reposted it at the gate, and the false alarms continued. Hearing the overture of Raiders of the Lost Ark repeatedly throughout the night or a dinner party, each time triggering the dogs to go crazy, quickly loses its appeal. I followed Dave's return instructions by going through Amazon... only to be told it was past the return deadline and not eligible for a return. I emailed Dave at Guardline. Neither he nor Guardline has responded. I hope Guardline reads this and will advise how a customer can activate the lifetime warranty guarantee. Mine lasted about 6 weeks.
