Were the hero and heroine really almost 40? They acted like, and had the emotional maturity of, 22 year olds just coming out of college. I get the whole high school was miserable thing, but this is ridiculous. At 38, you’re just as flummoxed by it as you were at 18? Look inward, stupid heroine, look inward. All of the political crap is annoying, as well. I read romance to escape from all the crap going on, so it would be nice to keep that to yourself, Author. From the meh-characters to the slow as molasses story, and the obviously triggered liberal leanings of the author, this book was a disappointment.
