Buyer Beware
As I shopped for a contour palette I looked at the reviews. This product had overwhelmingly positive reviews (178 total, 85% 5-star. 14% 4-star, and 1% 3-star). What I failed to notice was that all reviews were posted on or after July 19, 2016. That is 178 reviews in 23 days. Why did I go back and look at this? Because the color palette doesn't appear to be close to what was advertised. I would expect colors to vary slightly, but this seems vastly different to me. I am posting a photo of what I received next to the colors on the package so you can judge for yourself. The photo was taken outside in natural light. All of the actual colors have an orange hue that isn't apparent in the image in the item description or printed on the packaging. Two shades seem to be nearly identical (the ones that are supposed to be "Thanks A Latte" and "Heart over Heels"). I called the 800 number and had to leave a message. I went to the company website lagureminerals . com and it redirects to luxeelixer . com. The packaging states that the product is made in the People's Republic of China. It also bears a symbol that appears to be a plus sign in a circle under which is written "FDA APPROVED." However, the FDA does not approve cosmetics. The following can be found on the FDA website: "FDA does not approve cosmetics, although we do approve color additives used in cosmetics. It is the responsibility of cosmetic manufacturers to ensure, before marketing their products, that the products are safe when used as directed in their label or under customary conditions of use." You can find this information on the FDA website. These things concern me.
