I sent this light back for a refund ! The real issues here are the light's brightness, and 'sequence modes' of switch, and 'running time' or battery charge duration. 1st - The rating for 1100 LUMEN is basically bogus because the only mode that is rated at 1100 lumen is the mode called "Boost Mode" (that is not the 'high' mode which is substantially lower than 1100 lumen) which is apparently only to be used selectively, almost for emergencies situations, because the battery run time on this is really short - like 20 minutes. However, this will never matter if you cannot ever access this mode, as in myself, I was never able to switch the "Boost Mode" on and was only able to get low, med., high (high is not rated at 1100) and a thing called "triple flash" which is a steady beam with a second inner bulb, going on and off, that does not at all flash, but only very, very dimly 'flickers'. The product box states that "triple flash" will give a 'run time' of 22 hours. My use of it, fully charged, was approx. 4 hours. That is actually very good time length, but the brightness is very low and so the run time is irrelevant. 2nd - The switching modes: many reviewers complain about the defective switch and not being able to access the modes - low, medium, flash, etc.. There are 9 modes and I have never been able to get into all of the 9, only 4 modes. One buys this for the fancy flashing and pulsing but I was not ever able to get those. So, since all 8 of the modes are dramatically more dim than 1100 and the only one, 1100 mode, is the 9th "Boost Mode" - which I can never switch into - this light is not a good value and actually tremendously overpriced. One is paying for fancy stuff that they will never actually receive. The switches are defective. I sent this back for a refund and received a refund for the above reasons. My thanks to the seller for honoring the return and that represents them well. - I would like to say something positive about this product: this is not being sold by the manufacturer, but I have contacted Cygolite Corp. online and they state in E-Mail writing that the 1 year limited warranty will be honored when purchased on Amazon ( simply register online at Cygolite .com ). The charging time given at 2-3 hours is accurate and truthful - much better than many lights. Additionally, this is an attractive light and I especially liked the ease and simplicity of the mounting bracket. If this light worked correctly it would be an excellent product. - I went back to the cheap, rubbish BLITZU light (YouTube - how to use the blitzu gator 320 led) which has a very short charging time, long run time and is MORE bright than Cygolite because I simply use 4 Blitzu at a time for about 1300 lumen. These are very cheaply made, but because of the low price I view it as temporary and replaceable. I have used them successfully for 6 months after returning several defective ones. Incidentally, again, I have returned 4 of these lights to OUTAIR, sold under the name OUTAIR, and not Blitzu and I have recently ordered 4 of them, as a gamble, from Blitzu on Amazon ( I believe they are sold by the Blitzu Comp. themselves, but who knows who actually makes them ) and I will test them tomorrow.
