Extremely dissatisfied by my "bad faith" experience with Coway. Since I live in China, a high-quality air purifier is extremely important to me. I had this Coway unit shipped to me in Beijing. After a period of weeks, my unit started making popping noises which I viewed as extremely dangerous. I contacted customer support and received the following response: Thank you for your patience. We do empathize with your situation, unfortunately, by using the unit in China you have voided your warranty. We apologize, but your Coway model is only available for sale and use in the US and Canada. Please note: Using the Coway outside the US or Canada will void your warranty. Fine print aside, I ordered directly from Coway and it was shipped to me here in China. There was no obvious disclaimer at any time that this would void the warranty. I view this as being very much in bad faith and highly inconsistent with the company's stated values and the CEO's public expressed desire to regain consumer trust in the wake of a 2016 scandal over product defects.
