This is a sad instance of form over function. The plan was to have my bedroom have this soft lighting that was bright enough to read books by but not bright or directionally bright as the normal ceiling lights. I struggled to find any photos with the product lights on in a dark room, and now i know why. The single LED is so directionally downwards facing, there is very little ambient lighting that it gives off. It's very spotlight. The lamps look great and have the perfect zen minimalistic look i was going for. Sadly however, they do not provide the soft warm ambient light of a china ball light, or an IKEA paper lamp. Take a look at the photo and you can see that while the lamps give out strong light, they don't flood the room with soft ambient light so it's just too dark to read by. It looks like i just might have to do an IKEA lamp or Philips Hue.
