Almost there - but one serious design problem
This is a high quality item, but it probably needs one more generation of development to be 5 stars. It looks and feels like something you don't have to be ashamed of when you use it (priced accordingly). Adjusting the visor angle when you use it rewards you with satisfying clicks from the hinges as they pivot. The lens piece is dark enough to comfortably abate the setting sun that you are forced to peer into during your westward commute home. But it's not so dark that you have to flip it back up each time the sun isn't in your field of view at the moment. Here's the three-star penalty: the fastener screws that hold the entire assemblage together came loose on the first occasion that the car was parked in summer sun. I mean really loose. The hinges swung freely from the visor clips so the lens dangled back and forth. And the screws which secure the lens to the hinge assemblies were loose enough that both wobbled. It took both hands to hold the thing together after I removed it from my visor. My attempts to repair it with a screwdriver and an eyeglass repair kit failed. It appears the plastic pieces that hold all the screws and secure the lens had lost integrity in the heat. Although the vehicle was hot inside, the product was not exposed to direct sun. Either my unit was made from defective material, or the plastic needs to be re-specified to accommodate the 120+ degree temperatures that routinely plague our cars in summer months. Fix this defect, and you have a 5-star product.
