Bests & Worsts Reviews from Amazon

This is one of those cases where the negative reviews are really important to consider. I ignored them and wish I could have avoided all of the hassle. Our unit had one fatal flaw from day 1: the amount of kibble that it released on the 177ml setting varied wildly. We even measured out each meal as it came out before our cat started eating to verify that it was way off. It becomes impossible to recommend a feeder that can't even come close to the amount of food it is set to dispense. Even worse, the item is insanely difficult to return if you have ordered this from a 3rd-party seller. Gulf Coast Pet Supplies, the company I ordered from, claimed that they couldn't accept returns directly for a clearly defective unit. I was told that I would have to go through Petsafe, run through all the troubleshooting steps on the phone, and only then would I be able to return the unit to Petsafe, not the merchant. The merchant claimed that not allowing customers to return these units is part of the process of being an authorized Petsafe dealer. Wonderful! So I went through this fun process, and that wasn't 100% correct. I could only EXCHANGE the unit if Petsafe deemed it defective. Fortunately, the Amazon A-to-Z guarantee process has been helpful for this nightmare of a seller, but I would imagine it's pretty difficult to return this piece of junk with other 3rd party sellers as well. I can't recommend this feeder at all, but if you must, do yourself a favor and only buy this from Amazon.
