From the start, I kept wondering what the plot was and where the sad stories were going. Well, about three quarters of the way through this labyrinth of a book, I realized the stories were going nowhere just like the myriad of hard to keep track of characters. If you like slogging through overly detailed setting descriptions and thought processes of miserable, lonely, angry, vindictive people who all come from the same small, miserable place, this is the book for you.
