Bests & Worsts Reviews from Amazon

I often roll my eyes and just skip over a review as negative as I intend this to be. I usually assume such reviews must be written by trolls or chronically sad, angry people. I am neither. But, I AM immediately returning two bound copies of this very thin "book" that I purchased to accompany the two Amazon Echos I purchased as Christmas presents for my adult daughters. Instead of gifting this "User Guide", I will delay shipping my presents to my daughters by a day, and I'll just compile and print out some helpful information from some recent articles and reviews reflecting the Echo's present-day capabilities. This "book" is an excellent example of how presumably honest, well-intentioned, Amazon consumers feel they must somehow find positive things to say about a product that they received for free or at a discount, in exchange for their "fair and honest review". These compensated reviews hurt others who (foolishly in my case) rely upon them in making a purchasing decision. Ultimately, I believe such compensated reviews will undermine the credibility of all Amazon reviews. This "book" is shallow drivel, containing very, very little useful information. It is printed in a large font, double or triple spaced, with LOTS of blank page area. Numerous (partial) pages just contain lists of cute example questions you could ask Alexa. You will learn FAR more meaningful, useful information by reading recent, "Most Helpful Reviews" of the Echo. BUT PLEASE, don't just trust my opinions. Had I been able to preview this "book", I never would have purchased it. Before you embarrass yourself by giving this as an unseen gift, consider downloading the $2.99 Kindle version to your tablet or desktop (along with the Kindle reader app) or of course to an actual Kindle reader, and then decide for yourself. Remember you have 7 days to return an unsatisfactory Kindle eBook. Mr. Butler, you should be ashamed of yourself.
