A disaster chair!
I bought this to use at the 70th Anniversary of V-E Day at the World War II Memorial. It lasted 2 hours. I am 230 pounds and the weight limit states 250 pounds. While sitting on it in the front row next to Sen Bob Dole, two hours into the event, I head "crack" and started to fall backwards. Luckily, there were four or five people around me that grabbed for my arms and caught my back before I hit the ground and saved me. The design of this chair is such that the legs are drilled through to insert a bolt that allows the legs and seat to fold up or down depending on whether you want to carry it or to sit on it. The legs are thin wall aluminum tubing and as soon as it is drilled through it immediately establishes a stress point for failure. The one leg broke off at the screw joint and essentially the three legged chair became a two legged chair which immediately started to fall backwards with me in it.
