If I could give this zero I would. I was super excited when I turned it on as I love the sound of a fan at night while we are sleeping. Our old fan was super old and finally started making too much noise. This new Simple Deluxe fan does feel a bit cheap, but for the price with that great sound I was willing to try it. It sounded great for about five minutes and then we started hearing this odd LOUD popping and sizzling sound and noticed what look like lights coming from the floor. We looked and the fan was just shooting massive sparks from the motor! NO NO NO. DO NOT BUY THIS THING! It left marks on the carpeting and dresser (which are only a few years old)! I'm thankful we were awake and saw it so we didn't have a fire!
