**Spoilers in this review***I really wanted to like this book, but just couldn't. While supposed to be inspiring, the story leaves you frustrated at several points. The author had already hiked a significant portion of the trail the previous 2 years before this book takes place, so it isn't really a story about someone new to the trail. Along the way, the author makes several bad (potentially fatal) decisions like not carrying enough water in the desert and not carrying enough food in the Sierras that do not make sense for someone with prior long distance hiking experience. In addition, her parents pay for and support her entire trek, yet she is ungrateful to them for most of the book. Despite going to the trail to heal from a rape and being scared of men, she immediately attaches herself to a guy within the first days on the trail. And then the story concludes with her attaching herself to a different man. The title of the book should be "Spoiled, clueless girl miraculously doesn't die on the PCT". I do not recommend this book.
