Batteries are not replaceable
I love this little vacuum. Before today I would have given it 5 stars without hesitation. It’s amazing for cleaning up hairs off my white tile bathroom floor, teaching my 4-year-old to clean up after herself (suggested accessory: babybandz headphones), and spider hunting (suggested accessory: Black Diamond headlamp). It’s gone strong for 2 years, but yesterday it started shutting off while vacuuming because the charge was too low. I’ve only gotten about 30 seconds of use out of it for a few days, because the batteries have gotten tired and need replacing. So I hop onto the internet to order a replacement battery pack... and it apparently doesn’t exist. I just pulled it apart to see if I could figure out how to jerry-rig some sort of replacement, but short of prying out the old batteries and soldering new ones in (really out of my realm- lol), it looks like I’m out of luck. The batteries are attached to a circuit board as well, which makes it all the more intimidating, and impossible for a layperson. Take a look at the pic.
Seriously, Black & Decker?? I need to throw away a perfectly good vacuum because you couldn’t make the battery pack replaceable? Not cool. Not for my wallet, but more importantly not for our earth.
