A nightmare.
I don't know what the publisher was thinking, letting this book go out in this condition. It's a slapped together, haphazard mess of a novel. It's as though they wheeled the manuscript through a room containing an editor and called that good enough. But it's not good enough. Just... entirely unacceptable. A lot of other reviews have given a breakdown of the book's events and contents so I won't rehash that. I'll just say that this book was INSULTING. Hamilton manages to insult homosexuals, heterosexuals, bisexuals, those who engage in polyamory and/or BDSM, Christians, pagans, men, women, the intelligence of her readers and the entire city of Boulder, Colorado. Amazing how she can fit all of that into one book! The depth of her gall! Hamilton needs someone in her life, her husband, her editor, her friend, SOMEONE, who can tell her no. Maybe someone who can suggest that no, the wholesale slaughter of her life's work isn't in her best interest. Skip this book.
