Omg I have a blue checkmark on Insta and everyone hits on me. I don’t need a man
Where to start- the writing is really awful, very juvenile. Aside from that very unfortunate fact, the plot is soooo boring and dumb. Let me wrap it up- Gabrielles dad died when she was 6 and her boyfriend when she was 18 (she doesn’t go into it or her feelings around either, which was odd). Then, when she was 28 her husband cheated on her for 6 months with *gasp* a 19 year old!!! She literally mentions the length of time and the girls age over and over. This book claims to be a “learning to love yourself” book. Instead, it is a desperate girl claiming to be “in love” with a new man a month after filing for divorce from her cheating husband, only to have him say he’s not into it a couple of days before going on a planned trip abroad. Gabrielle claims to be a bad ass doing it alone without a man, but constantly finds men (shocking), talks about how CRAZY everyone finds her story, how cool they think she is because she has a blue check Mark on Instagram, how STRONG AND AWESOME everyone thinks she is, and weird plugs about getting hit on while alone abroad (lol). She also comes across as stalkerish constantly texting her ex boyfriend of one months mom and sister pouring out her heart saying she loves him while he ignores her. This book read as a “I want to show my ex husband I’m doing so good post break up” and “omg I’m so cool and empowered and all guys want me.” She mentions several times she never really loved her husband. We get it girl, you want to show him he lost, but I think this book screamed otherwise :/ anyway, I hope she actually found happiness- this book did the opposite of convince me
