Wanted to love this book but was really disappointed by the recipes - felt like a book from the 70s/early 80s. Lots of recipes call for ingredients I avoid - shortening, canned soup, corn syrup, etc. The final straw for me was the plethora of product placement plugs. One recipe specifically calls for a Duncan Hines Cake Mix. Seriously? Heaven forbid you try a store brand or, gasp, Betty Crocker!
