I was told that further review was needed My credit score is 710 not great but well within what this card usually calls for
I just had Chase open an account for me literally yesterday, an AMAZON VISA account with a limit of $6000. I had applied in response to the pop up every single time I order from Amazon, which is often, touting the 5% cash back and $70 credit for applying. Once I applied, I was told that further review was needed My credit score is 710 not great but well within what this card usually calls for. I waited in the mail and received a letter saying that they needed to establish my identity. I called and went through that process and was approved on the phone with the 6k limit. Later the next day I logged into Amazon and they conveniently had the card already loaded into my account. I purchased a $20 part for my fridge with the card and went about my business. A couple hours later, I got an email from Amazon saying my payment was declined and I needed to change payment methods. So I went in and switched to a different card. Today, I call Chase and was shuffled around to 4 departments until I was finally told that I have too many new accounts and my credit is also too new. I asked why this was not an issue when they issued the card, had me waste my time verifying my identity and made me spend 45 minutes with 4 different people trying to correct what I thought was a mistake. I am not sure how I am approved for $6000 one minute and less that 24 hours later, not even a day and before I made a single charge, they are hitting my credit now with an open and closed account. It sucks that there is no recourse, I dont give a damn about the credit, I do not need it and only wanted it to have another good reporting account and to build my available credit and make my utilization percentage even better than it is currently.I do hate that these banks like Chase can screw people, waste their time and have no penalty for doing so. But the second a consumer screws up, they are on them like a pack of jackals. Poor practice Chase!
