SO depressing!
I gave up halfway through this depressing book. All the characters are so miserable, just as they are in the other 2 books I read (Amy & Isabelle, My Name is Lucy Barton). Strout's writing is lovely and I wanted to see what she had done to win the Pulitzer. But this book was even more of a downer than the previous 2. Everyone is unhappy, lonely, boring, angry. Why do I want to read about such miserable lives? No idea how or why it won any prize.
