Once I had a tank that was similar in size, had a nice simple filter, and kept my fish happy and healthy. I was hoping for something similar here, but that was NOT the case. I bought this not realizing the stupid thing that makes the filter work has to be positioned ABOVE the tank, so now the fish I took in because no one else would are taking up all kinds of space in my house, there are ridiculously long tubes hanging everywhere, and the kicker? I cant even get it to work. My fiance had to figure it out for me because it just wouldn't do anything. Also, the flimsy plastic top isn't hinged or stabilized in anyway so as you're trying to get the cords positioned in the least obnoxious way possible, the lid continuously slips and falls into the water.
