I normally love this bedding. It usually comes a soft, fluffy press-pack. Just fluff it with your hands and it turns into a cloud! The last order we received has this coarse, scratchy... grossness. It is literally just shredded paper. It reminds me of the stuff they sell at the dollar store to put in Easter baskets or gift bags. One of my rats is hairless, so she can’t have anything in her cage that may cut, or scratch her. I can’t put this bedding in her cage because it would most definitely cut her to shreds on the sharp edges of the stiff strips. The pics I posted show that last bit of the old fluffy bedding we had from our previous bag. Then, for comparison, my daughter is holding a handful of each. The left side of the pic (in her right hand) is the new bedding we received today, and on the right side of the pic (in her left hand) is the old, fluffy bedding. It is clearly not the same. The bags were identical. Everything, right down to the UPC codes, but there is a huge disparity in the quality and texture. I’ve requested a refund, but I still felt I should throw out a warning. Im going to buy this from the pet store in person from now on.
