they switched mfg from Vietnam to Indonesia
I have bought Saucony trainers/running shoes for years. I always buy the same size (women's 9) and don't need to try them on first because they always fit. That's great because it means I can purchase them online -- from Amazon, for instance. This pair, though, shows on the under-tongue size tag that they are now made in Indonesia. All the old pair I have (5 currently in my closet) were made in Vietnam. Big mistake, Saucony. I traced around both shoes on a piece of paper and compared the outlines. The Indonesian (new) shoe is about a third of an inch narrower and the toe box is not nearly as big, pressing in and down on my big toe. No way I could be comfortable in these even walking, much less running.
Now I'll have to either try to buy a few pair of the older models or switch to another brand. I liked Saucony because of the wider width and large toe box. NOT ANY MORE.
