Astonishing Disrespect from Stove tec
Every now and then life gives you a juicy opportunity for a little....ummm... payback.
I thank Amazon for this opportunity.
This will be kinda cathartic, because I'm REALLY AGGRAVATED by the folks at Stove Tec.
(I had to grin when I saw the link that offered: "be the first to review this product." Yes, please; hand me that can of Whoop-@$$!)
Even though I ordered it a month ago, I can't tell you a darn thing about this product...and there's the rub. It never arrived, and that sequence of events rests 100% with Stove Tec... and their decidedly anti-customer attitude.
I fully understand that once FedEx has picked up the item, the transportation is more-or-less out of Stove Tec's hands. (I kinda understand a little bit about the FedEx shipping world as well; having been a cargo pilot for the world's largest FedEx Feeder airline.) The point is, this transaction could still have proceeded normally if Stove Tec had anything resembling a customer-service point of view.
Here's the chronology:
We ordered a "Water Pasteurizer" from Amazon 09/07/12. By 09/15/12 we'd received ALL SIXTEEN of the other different items in that same Amazon order; all except said Pasteurizer. By 09/22/12 I'm beginning to inquire with Stove Tec via email (because the Fed-ex tracking link was vague and unhelpful at my end.)
Where might my item be?
From the beginning of our communications, with absolutely no provocation from my end, Stove Tec's emails were curt, unhelpful... and at some point downright rude. Example: "...left our facility on the 7th as documented. You'll wait until Monday until we can learn more."
Saaaaaaayyy what?
My jaw was on the floor at the cheekiness of their reply. I don't know about you folks, but I don't appreciate that imperious tone of voice with my civil inquiry. It was quite inappropriate for the situation, and so things soured fast in the communications between us. I'm just trying to find out where my merchandise might be (the stuff I've already paid for) ...they're copping a snarky attitude.
Here's the final email I just got from Stove Tec this morning:
"Your Amazon order was shipped FedEx and apparently was lost. You did not receive your pasteurizer and your money was refunded, as required by Amazon in this circumstance. End of subject. We are not interested in any further contact or orders from you"
I ask the jury of my fellow Amazonners: If YOU worked for Stove Tec as a customer service rep; wouldn't your normal instinct be to simply apologize for the shipping problem, and immediately ship another one? Wouldn't it be easy to keep your customer happy? Really, Stove Tec, how difficult would that have been? (Especially in light of just coming to the market with this new product!!?)
Amazon asks it's reviewers: "What would you have wanted to know before you purchased the product?" I submit:
Before purchasing, potential buyers would like to know what CRAPPY TREATMENT they can expect from Stove Tec.
Ahhhhh. That felt better.
