This item is rated for 15 amps max, 1/2HP.... Ran a 1/2HP 13A (under full load) motor on this switch and it proceeded to melt and almost catch fire. Luckily I checked on it during its scheduled 8on/16off program. 15 minutes after it kicked on it was HOT to the touch and was visibly smoking. Would have sucked if this item would have burned my deck down, along with my house.
