I'm addressing Dewalt on this review because quite frankly, they need to answer for this product. Did you guys test this thing out at all or just manufacture it and release it to the public? I'm being serious when I ask this question. The power of the unit is outstanding and more than sufficient for any small homeowner. It looks nice, feels nice in your hand, but it has one MAJOR flaw and I mean MAJOR. This thing has hardly any guard on it. This wasn't really observed from the pictures offered on the product page. I have attached one for other customers to see as well as one that shows what a proper guard should look like. Within the first few minutes I caught a rock in the face just above my glasses which bled like a SOB. After 10 minutes I caught several sticks in the face and grass clippings. This is just unacceptable from a tool company that I believe to be one of the best in the business. I would recommend your company retrofit all of these models with a proper guard or face a potential lawsuit. This thing is hazardous and not safe.
