completely destroyed a 100AH deep cycle battery due to overcharging. the battery was VERY hot, swelled up plastic and the charger still at 15A fast charge. customer service not very helpful so far, sent back over a week ago without any communication. i tried this on other fully charged batteries with same result being on 15A fast charge. UPDATE schumacher will not stand behind their faulty products. they claim the charger did not overheat the battery. the ruined $200 deepcycle battery had 1 and ONLY 1 charger hooked to it. the battery was very, very hot and at full charge yet they still deny the charger is at fault. i hope this helps someone else out BEWARE of this company!!! UPDATE, company claims charger not defective, cannot explain why it got so hot. either overcharged or shorted will cause heat and the battery a month later is at 13.2 volts so that eliminates the internal short. they will not pay for the $200 battery but will replace the charger. dealing with schumacher just cost me a lot of grief and a new 100AH deep cycle that cost $200. i will never deal with schumacher, their word is no good, their products are no good.
