This Product has indeed changed. New packaging information proves it.
UPDATE FEBRUARY 2017. I originally posted a 5-Star review for this product shortly after I began to use it early in 2016. But a change in my review is definitely in order now. BEWARE! The current product being sold is not the same as the one that so many of us have loved. I was delighted to find Amazon’s Lightning Deal on a 2-lb bag of Zint Collagen Hydrolysate last week so I could save a few dollars on one of my favorite health products. However, after it arrived (in the new packaging) I happened to notice that the service size is now 2 Tbsp instead of 1 Tbsp. So I got out the bag in the original packaging that I currently had open and compared the two. I was appalled. Not only has the serving size changed, but of course the number of serving sizes per bag has also changed. There used to be 124 servings in the 2-lb bag. Now there are only 75 servings in the 2-lb bag. The first two sentences on the back of the original package state, “Hydrolyzed collegen is unique in its amino acid structure. It is derived from bovine bone and cartilage.” The new packaging has no such statement about the derivation of the product. The official INGREDIENTS listed on the original packaging shows “100% Pasture raised bovine gelatin.” The new package shows ingredients as “Grass Fed, Pasture Raised, Bovine Hide Collagen Peptides.” Collagen from hide is simply not the same as collagen from bone and cartilage. The Amino Acid content shown on the packaging is totally different also with the vast majority of them having less included in the new product than in the original. So not only has the serving size doubled, but the majority of the Amino Acid content has gone down. Those of you, who like me have been using Zint Collagen for over a year, probably remember all the information the company originally had in the descriptions on Amazon. One of the things they especially seemed to take pride in was that the product was sourced from cattle in Australia. Read the new description - now it comes from cattle in South America. I am not happy with the changes in what once was a wonderful product. I’m now looking for an alternative product. I haven’t opened the new bag yet and I’m seriously considering sending it back to Amazon. I’ve taken some photos of the information on both the original and the new bags and I am going to try to post them.
