What on earth...
This book is BONKERS, I don't even know where to start. I guess first, the general themes range from bizarre to abhorrent. A major theme of the book is that black people are intentionally having black kids get shot by cops as part of a false flag operation. Ben might be fine writing political takedowns on the internet, but he cannot do creative writing at all. He describes every single male character as "a bear" with the exception of president Prescott who is supposed to be a stickly weakling who is secretly gay (like obama, lol get it?). He repeatedly contradicts his own plot points. At one point a military general is kidnapped and blindfolded before being transported in Iran, then he transmits his GPS coordinates BY BLINKING THEM OUT IN A VIDEO. Stupid plot point aside, he was blindfolded and moved three paragraphs earlier. Does the author have untreated ADHD? Was there an editor on this book? Aside from plot structure and blatant strawmans, the language and sentence structure used is... troublesome. One paragraph begins with "'He has lost some weight', that was her first thought" and ends with "'He looked like death', that was her first thought". A black character constantly refers to white people as honkeys despite this book appearing to take place in the mid 90-s. Again, there is no way on earth this book had an editor, and the author himself probably didn't even proofread it. This is an abhorrent masturbatorial fanfic that has no business being published. But I've gotta say, it's also really really funny, but not in any intended way. This is The Room of Tom Clancy books.
