It goes flat when you lay on it.
I bought this for my husband, who is approximately 150 lbs, thinking this would be a good support for him after surgery. Although initially comfortable, he was in an almost completely flat position within a short time. I had to find another wedge with better support. My chihuahua seems to enjoy the bed wedge, however, so not all is lost.
