Who actually uses this to drink from rivers or streams?
If you want something that filters Viruses and NOT heavy metals you should get the Mission. If you want something that filters viruses AND heavy metals. Well, the ball is in your court Lifestraw. I'll be returning this immediately. I'm not going to buy a mission because it does not filter heavy metals. Not one person reviewing this product mentions this. Thus, the social proofing here must have been purchased from fiver. Or, from people filtering water at airports, churches, schools, and the like. So, if you are filtering airport or church water, this will work fine. If you are outdoors, make sure you have purification tablets. HUGE difference between purification and filtration. The pictures and the content on this listing makes one believe it is perfectly suitable for any water source. That could not be further from the truth. AGAIN, IF YOU PLAN TO USE THIS OUTDOORS PLEASE ENSURE YOU ALSO USE PURIFICATION TABLETS. Furthermore, I wanted to share some insight on actually using this filter. make sure when you hang it that it is the exact height of whatever container you'll be dispensing the filtered water into. Because the nozzle just spins, and spins, and spins, and the water doesn't pore downwards but outwards because the hose is curved. It made using this a very frustrating experience. You'll literally end up holding this filter up in the air with one arm, and your cup beneath it with the other for about 5 minutes per 32 oz. Huge customer irritant. Also, River water tastes like fishy river water after using this. I prefer ceramic geopress filters that help with taste, and that filters viruses.
