I feel like I've been duped by Philips... When I read that Philips was coming out with a 1600 Lumens Hue Color A21 lightbulb, I was extremely excited to be able to replace my current 800 lumen Hue bulb, as I needed more light to illuminate the upper deck of my house. Philips Hue's website showed it as "coming soon", so I was delighted to see that I could pre-order these on Amazon with a late Dec delivery estimate. Amazon came through and just delivered the the bulbs to me (mid-Nov), more than a month ahead as promised. I quickly unwrapped the bulb and started the setup process. I screwed in the bulb onto my deck lighting fixture, and turned it on for the first time. The glow of the white light was mesmerizing as the output was definitely more than double than that of the 800 lumen bulb. Next I tell Alexa to discover devices, and within a minute, the Deck light was registered with Alexa. Then, I commanded Alexa - "Change Deck Light to Green". The lights do turn to green, but the light output halved unexpectedly. Thinking that I accidentally dimmed the lights, I commanded Alexa again, "Deck Light, 100%". To my disappointment, it was already set to maximum brightness. Again, I asked Alexa to change to orange, then red, then purple, and finally to blue, but the brightness did not improve. By now, I plead to Alexa, "Change Deck Light to Soft White", and miraculously, the output doubled back in brightness. By now, I realized I've been duped by Philips. The bulb is only 1600 lumens on white or soft white, but when it changes to any other spectrum of color, the output drops back down to the same as the old 800 lumen bulbs. I bought 2 bulbs - I'll be returning one and keeping the other, all in hopes that Philips will do a software update to make the color settings brighter.
