I was happy to upgrade the wifi router because our service provider recently upgraded download speed in our neighborhood. The Asus arrived quickly, was relatively easy to set up, and looks pretty cool. Everything worked wonderfully for about 24 hours. Download speeds were faster and my wife and I could use our laptops at the same time to do powerful things. Then we lost connectivity. I tried all the regular fixes: unplugging and replugging the router and modem; resetting the router; resetting the modem; referencing online discussion boards for techie insight. Nothing worked, so I called customer service. Based on my description of the problem, they explained that I was having a software issue and would need to pay $65 to have someone connect remotely to my router. My answer: No. After having paid for the product, I expect that it works more than 24 hours before having to pay for service. The customer service representative explained that I would receive free tech help if I had purchased the router from ASUS directly, which is funny because the ASUS website lists Amazon.com as the first choice in a "where to buy" list. I am disappointed in ASUS, would not recommend that anyone purchase this, and will likely avoid ASUS products in the future.
