Looks Nice, but VERY Bad Quality Control
I chose this rating because while the trimmer looks nice, that's about all that is has going for it. I received this as a gift from my wife for my birthday after I put it on my Amazon Wish List, but I was terrified of putting this device against my face when I saw the terrible quality control. Check out the photos I uploaded. You'll see the following: 1. Scratches on the base. It looks like there is an imperfection in the mold used to create the top plastic piece on the base. I'm an engineer and I'm very well versed in both quality control and plastic injection molding. These are bad signs of poor workmanship in both areas. This product would never make it out the door at my employer. 2. Scratches on the trimmer. I removed the clear plastic film to find vertical scratches all the way up the front face of the trimmer body. This is unacceptable for a brand new product. 3. The screen printing on the base was upside down! My goodness; how does this get past anyone assembling this thing? It's immediately evident that either the part was screen printed upside down or it was assembled improperly. When I saw this, I knew this piece was going back. 4. Finally, upon further inspection, I realized that the blade guard was sitting about a millimeter higher on the right side of the trimmer blade than on the left. Built-in taper? I think I'll pass. Pros: Looks nice from a few feet away Nice looking packaging Blade attachments seem sturdy Cons: Scratches are abundant on brand new product Quality control is lacking Blade guard is crooked Shows lots of finger prints In the end, I decided that this was going to have to go back. There's no chance I'm placing this against my face, and I'd recommend that you do not either.
