★☆☆☆☆
Gratuitous foul language
listened to it on Audible. Didn't enjoy the readers, nor did I enjoy the banter between them. I thought that the gutter talk was over the top for a family book and was often unnecessary in getting to lessons of the book across. To me the gratuitous gutter language distracted from the story. Despite what many of the critics of poor reviews of the language in this book may say, most American families do not speak that way to family and friends and don't intend to. That doesn't make them soft: it means that they are civil. A story like this can be valuable reading for young people but the author is limiting his market with the language. That's just an obvious fact.
