Missing paint, TWICE!. Not recommended.
This review is not based on the functioning of the cylinder. It is based on the condition received. FYI the cylinder is made in Thailand. The cylinder did not have the Flame King label you see in the photo. It is plain white with a mesh plastic ring around it. The part of the cylinder that touches the ground is called the foot ring. This cylinder had clearly been dragged around by the manufacturer, the shipping company, or Amazon because there was no paint remaining on the bottom of the foot ring, – Bare steel. FYI these come to the US by boat in a shipping container. In addition there were two dings in the paint, (now no paint), and paint missing in two places on the welds. Lack of the protective coating results in a greatly increased liklihood of rusting and corrosion. The appearance of a cylinder can (and should) result in the propane filler refusing to fill it. The very first thing they do is the visual examination. If the cylinder has dents, pits, corrosion, evidence of exposure to excessive heat or fire, they wil not fill it. See 49 CFR 180.209 for the regulations if interested. I am not repainting or even touching up a brand new cylinder. I am not happy with this purchase. I requested a replacement. If the replacement is also damaged, I will return here, downgrade to one star, and find a US made cylinder that traveled less and passed through fewer hands before being sold.
By the way, the box was fully intact, so the cylinder was put in the box damaged.
Update
The second replacement cylinder was just as bad and it was returned. I just went out and bought two 20 pounders that I could see the condition of before purchading.
