Chakras for Westerners, not authentic
This book is about the Western and New Age interpretation of chakras, with their pretty, rainbow colors and pagan/earth spirituality correspondences, interspersed with some correct info taken from tantric texts, such as the names of deities at the chakras. Except for the deity information (most of it, anyway), it is not authentic Indian Yogic teachings, so please be aware.
An in-depth and authentic book "Layayoga: The Definitive Guide to the Chakras and Kundalini" would be a good purchase if you are genuinely interested in learning what the chakras really are, and what they are not. This review is mainly in warning to those students of Yoga who are looking for books with authentic information, not (as another reviewer put so well) all the other "dabblers" out there. Yoga students spend enough money on books, they should at least know what they are getting.
