Don't believe all the marketing hype. The cube has a long way to go to live up to it. I also have an Echo and FireTV version one; the cube was meant to be a replacement for the FireTV. I had so many issues setting up the cube that I finally decided to have the cube set up on one of my HDMI ports and my FireTV 1 set up on a 2nd HDMI port. Bottom line, at this point, I find I'm using the original Firetv a lot more than the cube. My equipment includes LG 70" TV, Vizio Sound Bar, Tivo. Some of my issues with it based on about of week of trying to set it up. 1. No support for TIVO. This is a major issue 2. Can't use my Logitech Harmony remote with hub to control it. This is also major since there are many limitations to voice control and once your into a situation that voice doesn't work you are forced to get out your original remotes and use them to fix the problem. This, of course, means I have to have all the original remotes around. This also is a major issue 3. The voice is often either not heard or miss understood. I spent a fair amount of time trying to locate the Cube in a location away from the speaker but this isn't as easy as it sounds since you need the HDMI cable connected to the TV and the power cord. Trying to locate the cube so you can have it in a convenient location and not have cords showing is not very easy. Correcting miss understood commands to the Cube tends not to be very easy. 4.The cube vocal searches aren't very good. If I search for SiFi movies I get TV show mixed in with movies for example. 5.The sound of the cube is clearly not as good as a ECHO but the fact it plays through the soundbar most of the time is good. I haven't noticed much if any difference quality in playing movies with the cube vs FireTV1 or performance but I haven't really concentrated on this since I've had so many issues with the Cube. Trying to remember the correct verbal commands tends to be a challenge and it turns out in most cases it's a lot easier to just use a universal remote like Logitech Harmony with hub. 6. Not clear why the USB port was removed and replaced by a mini USB port, but I can no longer use my USB Port extender with FLIRC, additional external storage, remote adapters, all of which are USB, not mini USB. 7. Voice search on cube won't find apps not installed through the play store There are a few things I like about the cube 1. Weather on the TV is easier to follow since it displays the weather on the TV. But if you ask for hourly weather it doesn't put it on the TV? 2.ToDo, grocery, calendars are nice on the TV instead of Alexa just telling you what they are but correcting something you added to a list is a pain vs typing it in. 3. Music (Pandora) shows the album/artist and sometimes lyrics on the TV screen 4. The limited Photo searches I did seemed to work nicely from prime photos Still pondering if I'm going to return it since it has such major drawbacks and only a few minor advantages.
