We thought by reviews and common sense that buying this camera with the solar panel was a smart deal. Wrong. It is useless and actually damaged our battery. I had to purchase a second battery and NOT plug the solar in. It fries the battery and within 24 hrs you see messages that the camera is offline and battery is drained. Makes absolutely NO sense as the sun is pointing directly on it in CA all day. It's as if the sun overcharges it and damages it instantly. Brand new second battery, dead 24 hrs after plugging in. Seriously irritating. Stopped using the solar panel and the battery lasts weeks. It's a shame because we really wanted to use it.
