I am getting rid of this. The user interface design is horrible. You cannot check activity on your phone unless it’s connected to their server. Functionally, this is a good product. What infuriates me is how they make you use it. You must have an account with Fitbit, which is ridiculous enough in itself, but what makes this absolutely maddening is you can’t open the mobile app without logging into their server. The Fitbit transfers data to to their server thru your phone, but they don’t let you access that data on your phone, unless you connect to their server. This is unacceptable. I try to understand why they would require a connection to their server, and the only reason I can think of is they want access to your data. Before you can even see it. With policies like this, I hope they go out of business. You should be able to use this device and the app without their permission. They are effectively saying you cannot use it, unless you get permission from their server. I can imagine they would say “it’s for security reasons”, but that is nonsense. I will never buy another one of their products unless they change their ridiculous policy.
