This slow cooker was awesome...for about 6 weeks. Until it abruptly stopped working. No petering out/gradually getting weaker, just one day it worked and the next it didn't. While the lights still come on and the timer still counts down (for high or low temperature) and up (for warm), the heating element has stopped working entirely. I mean, look, I know stuff is built to break down so that we have to buy more stuff, but seriously? We used this for less than 2 months and it stopped working. Interestingly, I was gifted a hand-me-down of this same brand and model awhile back and ended up getting rid of it because the heating element didn't work.... Sketchy. I'd say put your money elsewhere. Update: I put in the info of my not working slow cooker on the hamiltonbeach.com website because the device is still under warranty. However, the message i got back was that I have to pay $12 in shipping to get a replacement (and this they try to convince you is a great deal because they are being SO kind by not requiring me to ship my non-working one in and to instead cut off the power cord of the old one and send in a picture as proof I'm not scamming them)...haven't decided yet what I will do, but it does seem a little weird to pay 1/3 of the price for a new version of the same shitty slow cooker that may only last a couple months (just long enough to be outside the return window and then require paying another $12 perhaps?). I highly do not recommend buying this or other hamilton beach products.
