I really compared and read up on this blanket before I purchased it. I did not want to be disappointed and my researched paid off! First, there are a few Sunbeam heated blankets, but this one states "Luxurious Velvet Plush" not sure if there's a difference from the others, but I didn't want to take a chance. Received it and I am soooooo pleased that it feels just as it was described. It's super soft and feels wonderful on my skin. It warms right up and I even had to turn it down because I was beginning to bake myself. But, this will definitely allow me to save $ on my gas bill and still be nice and toasty at night or when I'm lounging watching TV. Some of the reviews complained that you can feel the wires inside or that there's a rough stitched edge on this blanket. Yes, both of these are true, but it doesn't change how great this blanket is for me. I'm a practical person, so I simply fold the rough edge down or put it at the bottom - no problem. As far as feeling the wires inside - it's really not THAT noticeable. Seriously. I went to a few stores but found this was the absolute best one available. I love it. The final test will be to see how long it lasts and how it washes. So, I will update this review when I have more information to share. But, so far, this one's a winner! :-) ***STOPPED WORKING ALREADY*** I'm so disappointed. It's the middle of the night and I'm so upset I got up to change my review. I haven't even had this blanket a year and it has stopped working already. I have not had to wash it and it hasn't been used a whole lot. I never even lay on top of it.
