The "lifetime warranty" ends at two replacements - buyer beware
I really like this light, but it has failed twice, about once every year or so.
Despite the "lifetime warranty" on the listing, when I wrote Upper Echelon Product support about my most recent failure, I received the following response:
Thank you for your follow up and for previously accepting the two replacement products under our Replacement Guarantee.
"We are unable to issue another replacement, however we hope that you'd be willing to give us another try! And please be sure to use our promo 10OFFUEP to receive 10% discount at checkout."
Then I responded:
"Well, so much for "lifetime warranty" - I'll be sure to make a post about this on Amazon."
To which I received:
"As stated in the warranty information, we only offer one-replacement per product purchased. However we have issued you two replacements instead."
I then responded that no, that's not what it says in the listing - what it says is:
"Seller Warranty Description
Lifetime Replacement Guarantee. If you have any issues at all with your toilet light, then contact us and we will issue a free replacement, for life."
There is nothing there - or anywhere I can find on the listing (at least as it currently reads as of 10-26-18) where it says anything about offering only "one replacement per product purchased."
Indeed, that's not at all what the common interpretation of "lifetime product replacement guarantee" means.
Anyway, it's $15, right? Not a huge deal? But these things fail, and they will fail. Sounds like the seller recognizes this, and has probably had to issue more replacements than they'd like to. Thus, their new change to "oh yeah, about that 'lifetime warranty..."
Buyer Beware.
