Don't buy it, SMR makes this drive unsuitable for RAID or NAS
WD Red drives under 8TB use SMR and are not viable in RAID configurations or suitable for NAS. Random writes are much slower under SMR. This leads to RAID clusters failing to rebuild or resilver. Why would they make a NAS drive with SMR? Profit motivations here really undermine the whole purpose of the RED drive altogether.
