How long do I have to play before the fun starts?
I'm one of the lucky ones that got this POS game to work on my PC and have spent upwards of 10 hours playing it. Here we go: - The entire game interface sucks. It's complicated to navigate and it makes the entire game seem claustrophobic. It's almost like EA purposely hid all the game options 3 levels deep in some randomly named folder. Strange. - The creepy sims. They honestly remind me of something from a 70's horror flick that would come to life and try to eat me while I sleep. They've got these vacant eyes and wonky animations and don't get me started on the impossible to remove chin gobbler thingy that a player can't remove no matter how much they slide the slider up and down. Then, amazingly, the ingame pictures are even worse. - The "powerful" create a sim portion of the game allowed me to recolor the couple few items EA actually included in the game & didn't pull out to sell for some outrageously high price in their online store. This was actually the best part of the game and at least kept my interest for about a half hour or so. - Gameplay - ugh. I think anyone who's played the game will agree that there is something very, very wrong with the game speed. People seem to think it's a bug that will be fixed in a patch, but I'm of the opinion that it's intentionally programmed to move at a snails pace. There were reports about the game speed when EA held their creators camp thing and that was months ago, if it wasn't intentional, then EA really sucks for not fixing the most annoying "feature" of any game I've ever played in my life. It is painful. I had to find other things to entertain myself while my sim was asleep - as in, get dinner, watch tv, ect. Seriously, why would EA think anyone wants to play a game that requires the player to find something else to do for 35+ minutes every hour that they play? - Also, it is impossible to play multiple households in the 1 neighborhood that comes included with the game. I can't have 2 sims that live next door to each other properly. I tried all day. A couple times one of the sims just moved on out of the neighborhood while I was playing the other household. The "story progression" option that EA allowed it's consumers to believe would allow for multiple household play doesn't even work. Not as advertised are the words I would use. - It's been theorized that EA may have pulled a fast one with their DRM. Basically renaming securom to something else to allow customers to think that they removed it completely when, in honesty, it's still the same old thing. I can't speak on this, I scanned my PC and can't find securom (I have the disk version btw), but if they renamed it, I wouldn't know if it was there or not anyway. If you are someone that cares about that, do your research before installing. In closing I want to say that this game is lacking the depth and playability of the previous games. It's just not fun. It's like my daughter's Valentine's Day shoebox, very glittery and pretty, but I can only look at it for about .3 seconds before getting bored. I wish I could get my money back for this crap.
