When I initially set it up it sort of worked. That is, I was able to use my phone (Android and iOS) to control the faucet, set up programs, etc. The app was buggy on both Android and iOS sides, and UI was confusing, but if I lower my expectations, I can say that this at least can accomplish what a dumb timer can do. Then, after a few weeks, issues start to show up. The app push notification was completely crazy. It sends huge amount of notifications to the point that I had to disable it. And then the worse came -- I noticed that the plants haven't been watered for about a week. I then tried to manually turn on the faucet (through the app) and got the dreaded "Device is taking too long to respond" error. Then I googled this and got to B-Hyve's user support forum, and found that every problem I ran into have been reported by someone else and it is essentially a software/hardware problem. That is, the product was completely not ready and was released prematurely to the customers. I know this as I am an engineer working for a major company in IoT space. I hate to say it, but customers should learn from my mistake and refrain from buying this product. The damage done to the lawn and plants in their yard due to malfunction of the faucet is going to be huge. A very expensive mistake. And to add more insult, I tried to contact their support through online chat and nobody responded to my chat. My post on their online forum also went unanswered.
