Woke up this morning to the smoke alarm blaring. The source of the fire was a Amazon Basics power strip in a spare bedroom. Nothing was even plugged into the strip. Fortunately we keep a fire extinguisher on every floor of the house. Two minutes later and the whole room would have been up in flames. In reading the other reviews here I see I am not alone in declaring the various models of Amazon Basics power strips a fire hazard and should be removed from the market.
